Robin Williams is renewing his emotions

At 62 years old Robin Williams still brings on a smile and laugh when he entertains us. However, life has clearly not been all fun and games for Williams who appears to have been literally experiencing the same type of emotional roller coaster ride in life as he depicts so well when acting. In order to try to get his emotional well being in shape Williams has checked into a renewal center reported The Hollywood Reporter on July 1, 2014.

Williams has voluntarily visited the facility that is affiliated with the 12-step program for few weeks. As Williams works on nurturing his emotional well being he has been focusing on his ongoing sobriety. In the aftermath of 20 months of working hard on one project after another Williams made plans to stay at the renewal facility for awhile. For Williams this is like a retreat.

Williams has openly talked about his past issues with drinking and cocaine during the early 1980s. In 2006 he sought treatment for alcohol abuse after 20 years of sobriety. He has discussed addiction as something that lays in wait for the time when you think your're doing just fine. But than addiction hits and you realize you're not doing fine. Williams shared these thoughts live for an interview with Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America.

The Huffington Post has confirmed Williams has checked himself into rehab for continued sobriety. Williams is presently at Hazelden Addiction Treatment Center in Minnesota in a program which is aimed at maintaining long-term sobriety. Williams has admitted to cocaine and alcohol addiction in the past. He also admits to needing help to fight addiction. Williams is a really talented guy with an upbeat attitude about life when the drugs and booze aren't getting him down and so let's hope his renewal goes well with some lasting effects.
