Ringo Starr has confirmed he'll be performing with Paul McCartney on “The Night That Changed America,” the Grammy Awards tribute special to be taped for CBS on Jan. 27, he told Access Hollywood Jan. 20. The program will air on CBS on Feb. 9, the 50th anniversary of the Beatles' debut on "The Ed Sullivan Show."

“To celebrate the 50 years since we landed in New York in February [1964], they are putting on a big show on Monday and we will be doing it there,” he told the TV show.

Rumors have been flying for weeks that the two would be performing together. They will be performing separately at the Grammy Awards show the day before.

The Beatles are also to get a Lifetime Achievement Award in a special ceremony Saturday. Ringo Starr and representatives of the families of John Lennon and George Harrison will attend, but not Paul McCartney, according to information from the Recording Academy.

A boxed set of the Beatles American albums, “The U.S. Albums,” is out today in America.
