Ringo All-Starr to sit in with Jimmy Fallon band tonight

Ringo Starr's press office announced Jan. 24 that All-Starr Band member Mark Rivera will sit in with the “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon” house band the Roots on tonight's show and perform with the group. Guests on the show will be Mitt Romney and James Purefoy. It airs at 12:35 a.m. ET/PT, 11:35 p.m. Central on NBC.

Rivera's appearance will be to promote his first solo album, “Common Bond,” which will be released Feb. 18. A single from the album, “Turn Me Loose,” is already available. The new album features eight original songs and several guest performers, including Ringo Starr, who appears on the track "Money, Money, Money," Nils Lofgren, Will Lee, Steve Lukather and Billy Joel, who plays on a cover of the Jimi Hendrix song "Spanish Castle Magic."

Rivera has in the past performed with Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, Don Henley, Tony Bennett, Paul Simon, Paul McCartney, John Lennon and Joe Walsh. He will be appearing with Billy Joel during his newly announced once-a-month residency at Madison Square Garden which was announced in December. He will also be a special guest at the Fest for Beatles Fans Feb. 7-9 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York.
