“The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Melissa Gorga was thrilled to announce that her book, “Love Italian Style,” had been released. However, within days of being on the market, reviewers were shocked to read that her husband was promoting an act that many interpreted as marital tape. According to a new Wetpaint Entertainment report published on Sept. 27, “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Melissa Gorga is now revealing that she did not mean for her book to promote marital rape. She is also defending everything she said in her book.
“I stand by what I said,” she told E! News after being criticized for encouraging marital rape in her book. “I truly believe in everything I said in it.” The passage that is causing concern is one that was written by Joe Gorga, her husband. He said in the book that wives don’t always mean ‘no’ when they say ‘no’ to sex. Ignoring a ‘no’ had some people thinking that they were promoting marital rape.
She has revealed that they have sex at least three times per week to keep things hot between them. However, there are two types of sex; passionate and maintenance. “There’s real passionate sex and maintenance sex,” she writes in the book. “You need them both for a healthy marriage. Maintenance sex keeps the wheels greased, the line of communication open, and the fights to a minimum.”
What do you think of her defense of her book?
