Rhode Island, Kansas witnesses describe bright light

Witnesses in Rhode Island and Kansas are reporting a bright orb that seemed to be losing intensity as it moved out into space, according to June 27, 2011, testimony from the Mutual UFO Network (MUFON) witness reporting database.

The Rhode Island witness was in West Warwick with friends when they noticed a bright, oval light, on June 27, as reported in MUFON Case # 29754.

"The light was oval in shape and the light was so bright you could see an aura around the light," the reporting witness stated. "It was pure, white light, not even the slightest of a yellow color. It was the whitest light I have ever seen coming from a plane, if that's what it was."

The witness described the light's movement.

"The light moved forward for about 10 seconds and then seemed to ascend upward. As it did the light began to dim slowly until we couldn't see it anymore. My only explanation I can think of, is that if it was a spotlight, they turned it off, and as the light cooled, it dimmed slowly making it appear the light was leaving the atmosphere, because the object was then 'shrinking' from sight."

The light appeared to be oval.

"This object was oval in shape. It was not blinking whatsoever. It was the brightest, vibrant white I've ever seen coming from a flying object. There were no red or blue lights or even white lights blinking. Just a bright, oval shape that seemed to ascend and vanish."

Also on June 27, 2011, a Kansas couple was returning home when they looked into the sky, as reported in MUFON Case # 29755.

"When I turned my attention to the Big Dipper in the northwest, I noticed a bright, yellow flowing orb underneath and moving upwards toward the constellation," the reporting witness stated. "Almost as soon as I spotted it, it picked up momentum and seemed to decrease in luminosity by about a third."

The witness described the color.

"The color changed from a deep yellow to more of a white. I called my wife to come quickly, even though she hurt her foot yesterday. She quickly hobbled over and spotted it with me."

The object seemed to be moving away.

"As we watched, the object zipped through the cup of the Big Dipper and seemed to be heading out of the atmosphere. It continued on until it completely faded from view."

The object seemed to change as it moved.

"Over the course of the sighting, the object fluctuated in acceleration, brightness, color and direction. I've attached a graphic to better communicate what I perceived."

The reporting witness attached Image # 1 to the MUFON report.
