Rhinebeck, September 9 - You know the mid-Hudson Valley has arrived when two national craft fairs premier here this year. Not only have the Hudson Valley Food and Wine Fest and the Dutchess County Fair gotten huge, but both the first-ever Country Living Fair in June, and now the newest arrival, the Hudson Valley Arts Festival in October, sandwich them to create a major shopping/entertainment destination at the Dutchess County Fair Grounds in Rhinebeck.
The Dutchess County Fair Grounds is an economic engine that brings millions of dollars into the Rhinebeck area as it attracts more than a million visitors to the many shows held there each year. In addition to the annual fair, numerous outstanding events like Crafts at Rhinebeck, Classic Car Shows, Antique Shows, a Sheep & Wool Festival and Wine & Food Festival are the staple events of every season. Adding two new shows makes the Dutchess County Fairgrounds a destination for family fun and wholesome entertainment in the beautiful Hudson Valley.
First, on June 7-9, Rhinebeck hosted the first annual Country Living Fair in the Northeast at the Dutchess County Fair Grounds to rave reviews, drawing people from more than 30 states. The Country Living Fair, produced by Stella Show Management, is a living, breathing and fun-filled replica of Country Living’s award-winning magazine. It is an exciting shopping, music, seminar and demo-filled paean to Country Living magazine that is sweeping the US. Well, they kicked off the summer season with a big fanfare to attract tens of thousands of people.
Now, the newest addition to Dutchess County Fair Grounds’ already packed schedule is an Artrider event called Hudson Valley Arts Festival premiering on October 5-6. According to their website, the Hudson Valley Arts Festival at Rhinebeck will be a celebration of artistic expression in its many forms with a main focus on craft and visual art. Much more than a craft show, much more than an art show, it will be a celebration of the very concept of creativity.
In addition to exciting shopping with over 200 outstanding artists and craftspeople from 21 states, the Hudson Valley Arts Festival will present a line-up of exceptional musicians, an interactive musical experience, live art projects, book signings, craft and art demonstrations, children's art activities, over 30 gourmet food purveyors and more!
A $10 admission (Seniors $9 & Kids 6-16 $4) gets you into the Hudson Valley Arts Festival on Friday or Saturday October 4 & 5 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., or on Sunday, October 6 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This is the last major crafts fair of the season, perfectly positioned to provide exceptional Holiday shopping opportunities. See you at the Fair Grounds!
