Two different Brazilian websites are reporting Thursday that a concert by Paul McCartney will be featured at Allianz Park stadium in São Paulo, Brazil later this year. According to the two sites Uol Esporte Futebol and Veja, the stadium will feature concerts by Paul McCartney in November of 2014 and the Rolling Stones in March of 2015.
“O estádio do Palmeiras terá uma inauguração de luxo. Nada menos do que Paul McCartney e Rolling Stones serão as duas primeiras grandes atrações do local que desponta como principal arena multiuso do país,” reads the original text from UOL Esporte Futebol.
A rough translation reads “The stadium of Palmeiras will have an inauguration of luxury. No less than Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones are the first two major local attractions which emerges as main multipurpose arena in the country.” McCartney has not announced any concerts after October, with the latest being Oct. 30 at Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina.
McCartney last played in Brazil at the beginning of his current Out There tour with three stops in May of 2013. The first show took place at Mineirao Stadium in Belo Horizonte on May 4. That was followed by Serra Dourada Stadium in Goiania, Brazil on May 6 and finally Castelao Stadium in Fortalega. Brazil on May 9.
It was during the first show in Belo Horizonte that he added to his setlist several songs he hadn't played during his previous On the Run tour. They were “Eight Days a Week,” “Listen to What the Man Said,” “We Can Work It Out,” “Another Day,” “Your Mother Should Know,” “All Together Now,” “Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite,” “Hi, Hi, Hi” and “Lovely Rita.”
