A Mexican website posted an unconfirmed report Friday that Paul McCartney is in negotiations for new shows in South America and the Southern Hemisphere that could happen in May.
Paul on the Run Tour reported that McCartney has been working on a series of dates that could take in Argentina and Brazil, and possibly Costa Rico and Mexico as well. The unconfirmed report does not include any mention of shows anywhere else, including the United States.
McCartney's last “On the Run” shows were a series of five shows in four cities late in 2012 that covered Houston and St. Louis in the United States, and Edmonton and Vancouver in Canada. The former Beatle was also one of many headliners at the Hurricane Sandy 12-12-12 concert. He presided over a Nirvana reunion that featured a new song, “Cut Me Some Slack.”
More recently, he and the McCartney family have been promoting a new line of meatless foods introduced in the UK by Linda McCartney Frozen Foods, named after his late wife. The introduction included a new version of the Paul and Linda McCartney song “Heart of the Country.”
