Country music's Ray Price, "The Cherokee Cowboy," would have turned 88 on January, 12. The Perryville, Texas born Price, died Monday, December 16, from complications of pancreatic cancer.
Price scored a Grammy Award for his song "For The Good Times" in the 1970's. His country classics still play on radio stations across the United States.
Country music dj's Crook and Chase posted on their Facebook page that Price "was always a gentleman, always a sharp dresser, ALWAYS the smoothest voice."
Price was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville in 1996.
