Rajon Rondo injury update: Boston Celtics point guard out for season? (Video)

A Rajon Rondo injury update from the Boston Celtics could hold some very bad news. According to an early report from Sunday (Jan. 27), Rondo had to miss the game against the Miami Heat due to a hyperextended knee. The injury has him listed as day-to-day, but some bad rumors were being expressed during the game.

The two broadcasters from ABC for the Boston vs. Miami game noted that there were rumors floating around that Rondo had torn his ACL. It was made clear that they didn’t have facts to back up those rumors at halftime of the game, but they also mentioned that he was with team doctors at the time.

Rondo was set to go to New England Baptist Hospital to have a precautionary MRI, so quite a few rumors about his status were starting to pop up. The seriousness of this injury could definitely dictate how well the Celtics play for the rest of the season and if fantasy basketball owners need to react quickly to try to recover from a devastating injury.

At this time, the most recent Rajon Rondo injury update has him “only” suffering through a hyperextended right knee. That could mean he misses several games for the Boston Celtics, but this is also a situation that Celtics fans and fantasy basketball owners will want to pay very close attention to. If he does have a torn ACL, which still remains unconfirmed, Rondo would be done for the year.
