Today, Human Rights Investigation (HRI) has called for accountability related to the recent cluster bombing of Libyans in the nation's third largest city, Misrata. HRI has evidence that, although Human Rights Watch and a US media reporter blamed Gaddafi supporters for the war crime of cluster bombing Misrata, it was the United States Navy and Western allies who cluster bombed the city in April in the US led war on oil rich Libya, and then led a deadly psychological operation for further violence.
As news of the HRI investigation spreads through internet social networks, the organization wants to ensure three things it says:
1) Those who commit war crimes are prosecuted
2) Victims of the bombing of Libya get justice and
3) Future use of cluster bombs by the forces involved in Libya is limited
"The HRI said it has convincing evidence that the cluster bombing blamed on pro-Gaddafi forces was actually carried out by the US Navy," according to Press TV. (Also see: "Destroying Misrata to Save It," HRI)
HRI has reported that Navy commanding Officer of the destroyer possibly spotted off the coast of Misrata, the USS Barry, used to be Admiral James G Stavridis, the Admiral particularly keen on information wars and controlling the internet.
According to Press TV, when the attacks occurred, "Human Rights Watch and a 'reporter' working for US media immediately blamed forces loyal to Libya's embattled leader Muammar Gaddafi for the cluster bombing that threatened civilian lives."
Then, justifying attacks on Libya, U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton quickly blamed and condemned the cluster-bombing act depicted as Gaddafi led "inhumanity," that also took the lives of two Western reporters.
According to AP, Clinton told Washington DC reporters:
"Col. Qaddafi's troops continue their vicious attacks, including the siege of Misrata. There are even reports that Qaddafi forces may have used cluster bombs against their own people."
Human rights groups and international aid agencies have warned of the growing humanitarian disaster in Misrata.
