Speculation regarding Sony and Microsoft's next generation systems have been circulating around the inter-webs for quite some time now. Many expect that these systems will be released by the end this year, with Sony and Microsoft unveiling these systems at E3 2013. In regards to this, an article delivered by Gaming Inquisition yesterday leads us to believe that the announcement of the PS4 may actually take place at the upcoming Destination PlayStation Event, while the Xbox 720 may be announced at E3.
Speaking of the Destination PlayStation Event, Sony will be conducting this event in Scottsdale, Arizona from February 25-28. While Sony claims that this event will showcase future titles for the PS3 and PlayStation Vita, rumors have led us to believe that Sony may officially announce the PS4.
With an announcement of this system this early in the year, it will provide Sony with the prime opportunity to get the jump on Microsoft's Xbox 720. With this advantage given to Sony, the PS4 will be already showcased to the public before the Xbox 720 is even announced.
As for Microsoft's reveal of the Xbox 720, it is currently rumored that this system will be announced at E3 2013. As stated in a previous article, Microsoft has now listed an official countdown to the E3 event. Through the listing of this countdown, it is expected that Microsoft will be making a major announcement at E3, which will probably be the Xbox 720.
