Four years ago, #PRStudChat, a Twitter-based community, was founded to help assist public relations students with the transition from the classroom into the business world. Professionals from across the globe, joined with students and educators to share insights and meet with the next generation of PR industry leaders. Each month a new conversation prompted dynamic discussions and new relationships. This August, in celebration of the 4th anniversary of #PRStudChat students from the Class of 2010 will return to share their experiences with the Class of 2017.
Current students, professionals and educators are invited to join the conversation and share their own stories, advice and questions with the community. To join the conversation, follow the hashtag #PRStudChat on Twitter at 8:30 p.m. eastern on August 27th.

More about the Special Guests from the #PRStudChat Class of 2010
Nick Lucido joined Edelman as an intern in May 2009 and is currently a senior account executive within Edelman Digital. Lucido is a member of the firm’s analytics and strategy team, providing insight development, measurement counsel and strategic planning for clients in a variety of industries. Currently, Lucido works with ConAgra Foods, Kraft Foods and Kellogg’s to guide measurement and analytics planning and execution.
Han Ma As a Digital Specialist at Taylor New York, Han provides strategic digital and social counsel and execution for many of the agency’s client partners, including P&G, 3M, Nestlé and Nike Jordan. Stemming from Amish paradise (Lancaster, PA) and obtaining his undergraduate studies at The Pennsylvania State University, Han has a passionate allegiance to all things Nittany Lions (he is still convinced that he literally bleeds blue and white). When he’s not celebrating his beloved alma mater or trying to solve the battery drainage crisis on his iPhone, you can find him traveling the world, experimenting with new cuisines and sampling as many fine craft breweries as he can. Jessica Lawlor is a public relations professional in the Philadelphia area. She is the marketing and communications coordinator at Visit Bucks County, the official tourism promotion agency for Bucks County, PA. On the side, she blogs at JessicaLawlor.com about getting gutsy- stepping outside your comfort zone to live a life that makes you truly happy. Jessica is a proud alumna of Temple University, class of 2010.
Kion Sanders is a digital strategist with a strong passion for the consumer, lifestyle and entertainment industries. As a digital strategist at Edelman, he works solely with Axe to drive awareness across all of their social channels. Some of his duties involve community management, event planning, developing and executing social marketing strategies.
Stephanie Majercik Stephanie is a 2010 graduate of Canisius College in Buffalo, New York. Following her graduation, she moved to Washington, D.C. to start her career in marketing at an integrated marketing and public relations agency, O'Keeffe & Company, managing PR, events, and marketing for large government and high technology clients. In 2012, she transitioned to 2U, Inc., an online education company, and now serves as a marketing manager for 2U's online undergraduate program Semester Online.
Brittany James is an assistant account executive at Hunter PR. She works on the Hasbro games team. Brittany received her B.A. in Public Relations, with a marketing minor, from Quinnipiac University. As an active member in the school's Public Relations Student Society of America chapter, she held the office of Vice President of Fundraising and helped with many projects for nonprofits.
Rowena L. Briones graduated with her B.A. in Communication Studies from The College of New Jersey in 2008. She then pursued graduate study at the University of Maryland, where she obtained her M.A. in Communication in 2010 and her Ph.D. in Communication in 2013. She has just been hired as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the School of Mass Communications at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she will be teaching undergraduate courses in PR Writing and Social Media.
Angela Hernandez is a health care marketing and social media specialist with the Wayne State University Physician Group. Her experience is in a variety of public relations functions including writing, media relations, social media, marketing, community relations, branding, event planning and more. She is active in the Detroit PR/social media community as a member of PRSA Detroit, Social Media Club Detroit and #SMintheD.

It began with a simple question asked by Angela Hernandez, then President of PRSSA at Central Michigan University (CMU). “Is PR Right for me?” A follow up blog post by PR 2.0 expert Deirdre Breakenridge inspired a series of direct messages on Twitter between Breakenridge and fellow PR industry pro, Valerie Simon. This was an important question and one that should be explored beyond one student or one blog post.
