England’s Daily Star has reported a story today bordering on being tacky and insensitive. To promote the release of Diana, the new film based on Princess Diana’s life and tragic death, billboards were placed at the entrance of the Pont de L’Alma (Paris, France); the tunnel where Princess Di, companion Dodi Fayed and driver Henri Paul died in a car accident on August 31, 1997.
The story reports that English tourists were appalled after seeing the movie billboards near the death site. The movie has not appealed to English audiences.
On September fifth, Andy Lea, the Daily Star’s film critic called the movie “dull.”
Diana is based on Diana: Her Last Love by author Kate Snell. The movie officially released in the UK on September 20, 2013. Actress Naomi Watts portray Princess Diana.
