'Pink bank robber': Capital One bank robbed by lady in all pink

A pink bank robber, as it turns out, is a woman. Maryland police investigators say a woman who donned a nearly all-pink ensemble, robbed a bank Monday. The Capital One bank robbery took place with no injury or loss of life and the suspect is still at large, according to a Dec. 3 WUSA 9 news report.

The "pink bank robber" story sounds like a YouTube spoof or a sketch that channels an SNL episode. However, this weird news story in Prince George's County really took place.

Authorities say an African American woman, in her twenties and standing somewhere between 5'8" to 5'11" tall, walked into a banking branch in Landover and handed a note to a teller, apparently demanding cash.

As per banking protocol, the teller complied.

The woman in pink robbed the bank and made off with an undisclosed sum of money. No weapon was mentioned as having been involved in the holdup.

Surveillance footage obtained from inside the location showed the woman dressed in a pink coat and matching wrap to conceal her face. And get this: the now-infamous pink bank bandit was holding a matching cell phone.

Nicki Minaj and Paris Hilton, eat your hearts out; you have competition by a pink-loving stickup woman.

With duds like that, the pink bank robber shouldn't be too hard to nab.
