Phil Vassar releases new 'Love Is Alive' single to country radio

Award-winning singer/songwriter Phil Vassar closed 2012 with a Christmas tour in support of his "Noel" CD and he's kicked off 2013 with a fresh single for fans.

"Love Is Alive" is the title of the new track that Vassar penned with Tom Douglas, ACM and CMA Song of the Year Award winner for "The House That Build Me," which was a hit for Miranda Lambert.

The mandolin-infused uptempo song was just shipped to country radio, per Vassar's PR camp, and word has it he's completing a full album for release later this year.

"Tom and I had a blast writing this song," Rodeowave Entertainment artist Vassar said in a Feb. 15 correspondence s hared with Examiner."The message is really simple, and crowds have really been getting into this song everywhere we play it."

Vassar premiered the new single at a recent sold-out concert at one of his favorite haunts, Joe's on Weed Street in Chicago, where more than 1,000 fans packed the

sold-out venue for the nearly three-hour performance.
