Grammy and Dove Award-winning vocalist John Schlitt, who is best-known to fans of gospel music for his years with legendary rock band Petra, will join actor Stephen Baldwin in a new faith-based TV sitcom, "Rock And A Hard Place."
Scheduled to go into production in the Spring, the television project features Schlitt starring in the role of John, the maintenance man at Solid Rock Church. Baldwin's character, Pastor Darren Keaton, is the pastor of the church when learns he has become the new owner of Hard Knocks, the bar directly across the street from the church. This puts Pastor Keaton between "a rock and a hard place."
The sitcom has already reached its Kickstarter goal to produce the pilot, and is currently in Phase Two to make a "reach goal" of $100,000. The deadline for contributions is 9 p.m. E.T. Thursday, January 16.
"If you feel it's important to reach the public with a Christian perspective, this is your chance," Schlitt says. "I believe there is an audience waiting for programming such as Rock And A Hard Place and I'm honored to be part of making the series happen."
