Peter Noone, Micky Dolenz to highlight 2014 Chicago Fest for Beatles Fans

The Fest for Beatles Fans announced the first guests May 16 for its Chicago fest to take place Aug. 15-17 at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare Hotel in the city. Leading the roster will be Peter Noone of Herman's Hermits, Micky Dolenz of the Monkees, Mike Pender of the Searchers and Laurence Juber of Paul McCartney and Wings. This year's event will mark the 38th annual summer the Fest has been in Chicago.

Also on hand will be three men with ties to Ringo Starr. Mark Rivera, musical director for Ringo Starr's All-Starr Band, will be on hand, as will photographer Rob Shanahan, whose portfolio includes extensive work with Ringo as well as many others including Paul McCartney, and former Ringo producer Mark Hudson.

The show will also include a long list of Beatles authors. They will include Bruce Spizer, Mark Lewisohn, Chuck Gunderson (“Some Fun Tonight!”, David Bedford (“The Fab One Hundred and Four”), Vivek Tiwary (“The Fifth Beatle”), Wally Podrazik (“All Together Now”), Al Sussman, Nancy Lee Andrews, Jude Southerland Kessler (“She Loves You”), Candy Leonard (“Beatleness: How the Beatles and Their Fans Remade the World”) and Kenneth Womack.

Also on hand will be Anthony Robustelli, Judith Kristen, Leana Stagg, Jim Berkenstadt (“The Beatle Who Vanished”), Richard Buskin (“Beatles 101: The Need-To-Know Guide”), Robert Rodriguez (“Solo In the '70s”) and Dave Schwensen (“The Beatles At Shea Stadium: The Story Behind Their Greatest Concert”). Also attending will be artists Eric Cash and Ron Campbell (“Yellow Submarine”), historian Susan Ryan and trivia expert Tom Frangione.

Emcee will be Chicago “Breakfast With the Beatles” host Terri Hemmert. According to the Fest, the event will feature 16 ballrooms with concerts, trivia, art and photo exhibits, contests, auctions, videos, presentations, puppet shows, yoga, discussions and more. Guests will discuss their careers and perform with the band Liverpool. Tickets for the event are now on sale through the Fest website.
