Beyonce has been taken to task for wearing too much skin during her Super Bowl performance. According to a number of sources including MSN on Feb. 5, a portion of the leather costume Bey donned during the halftime show in New Orleans was made from the remains of python and iguana, a fact that has the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) riled.
In fact, PETA was so riled by this reptile-adorned sartorial statement designed by Rubin Singer that the animal rights organization complained to E!, saying "We would take a bet that if Beyoncé watched our video exposés...she'd probably not want to be seen again [clothing containing] snakes, lizards, rabbits, or other animals who died painfully."
The organization also said that "humane vegan options" are on point for trending fashion these days but that Beyonce "missed the mark on that score" when choosing her Super Bowl ensemble.
However, many pundits disagree, weighing in on the fashionista singer's costume choice on social media with all kinds of positive reviews.
For instance, self-described dominatrix Alexandra Snow of Columbus, Ohio said, "I want Beyonce's leather outfit in the worst way. Meanwhile, make-up artist Toya Forbes uttered in much less than 140 words in Twitter, "Pretty sure Beyonce could start a cult now. I'd join if I could get that outfit."
And so, while PETA slams Beyonce for what she wore for the Big Show, others were not so negative about this sexy Super Bowl fashion statement that was seen by an astounding number of spectators just before the lights went out.
