PETA slams Beyoncé for iguana and python-skinned costume at Super Bowl (Video)

If PETA slams Beyoncé for her Super Bowl 2013 performance, some animals must have been violated. The activist group is in an uproar over her costume choice during Sunday's halftime show performance which featured a combination of the skin of two different reptiles.

According to a report from Star Pulse on Feb. 5, the singer's black bodysuit was made from python and iguana skin and leather. That got the attention of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) group. A spokesperson said of the outfit worn by the singer:

"We would take a bet that if Beyonce watched our video exposes, she'd probably not want to be seen again in anything made of snakes, lizards, rabbits or other animals who died painfully. Today's fashions are trending toward humane vegan options, and Beyonce's Super Bowl outfit missed the mark on that score."

Beyonce's Super Bowl 2013 halftime show has been receiving plenty of comments across the board following a racy musical act which also featured a reunion involving her former Destiny's Child group members. Some have criticized the singer for her choice of outfit, saying it was way too skimpy and sexy. Now PETA is saying the costume was controversial due to fact it was made out of reptiles.

Beyonce has also been under fire for her recent lip sync incident during the Presidential Inauguration 2013, which she later admitted to, but also cleared up by proving she could sing the anthem without a backup track. The question is, does all this publicity really hurt Beyonce that much? With an upcoming tour scheduled to start in April, one would think even the bad publicity is keeping her name in the news enough and that her show will still go forth.

Beyonce's Super Bowl 2013 halftime show was televised locally on CBS affiliation station WDBJ 7 in Roanoke.
