Sunday, September 29, is National Coffee Day. This is a new event to us but is an annual observance for the celebration of coffee. On behalf of the coffee growers, it is also a day to promote fair trade coffee. You may find local businesses who will offer free or discounted cups of coffee.
We here at Home and Living received a few gifts from our coffee friends—elves, you could say. First from Nestle Coffee-mate, we tasted a new, all-natural bliss flavor, Cinnamon Cream. This is a real dairy product made with milk and cream, sugar and the natural flavor of cinnamon. It’s a great fall treat and will do well with pumpkin pie and cakes. We love it. (We are even going to try a bit in our hot chocolate!)
Our friends at Black & Decker home appliances launched a new Single Serve Programmable Coffeemaker that is available at Target this fall. It will brew either ground coffee or prepackaged soft pods. The adjustable tray fits travel mugs as well as regular cups. Finally, we love the permanent coffee filter, eliminating the paper ones. For peace of mind it has an automatic shut-off and only costs a tidy little $39.99. Check it out.
We’re also going to dig into Sarabeth’s Signature Fresh Ground Coffee. This comes from an award-winning jam maker and pastry chef-restaurateur. The Kona Blend will be our first flavor choice.
Smell the brew!
