Paul McCartney will perform at a rare very intimate show for fans in San Antonio, it was announced July 14 by Tobin Center for the Performing Arts in San Antonio, Texas, where the show will take place. The concert, a benefit for the brand new venue, will be held Oct. 1 at 8 p.m.
This rare performance on his Out There! Tour is a rare theater performance as opposed to the huge stadium shows generally featured on the tour. It will take place on the H-E-B Performance Hall stage and only 1,750 tickets will be sold for the event.
Tickets for this show went on sale Monday and are now available in person at The Tobin Center Box Office at 115 Auditorium Circle in San Antonio or can be ordered by phone at (210) 223-8624. According to MySanAntonio.com, tickets will not be sold online.
The new show is being added in front of a show that takes place in Lubbock, Texas, the birthplace of Buddy Holly, a major influence on the Beatles' music, the following day on Oct. 2. That show was originally scheduled to take place in June and be the first 2014 U.S. show on the Out There! tour, but it was rescheduled after McCartney contracted a virus.
All shows planned for June, including others in New Orleans, Dallas, Atlanta, GA., Nashville, Tenn., Jacksonville, FL., and Louisville, KY., were pushed back to October. A show in San Diego on Sept. 28 was recently added to the tour.
McCartney performs tonight in Lincoln, NE., and will play Kansas City, MO., on Wednesday. Shows in Minneapolis, Missoula, MT., Salt Lake City, Los Angeles, Phoenix, AZ., and San Francisco are scheduled for the Out There! tour for August.
