Paul McCartney's website finally made it official on March 9 and announced the first date of his 2014 Out There! tour will begin in South America. The opening Paul McCartney show of the tour will take place April 21 at Santiago Chile's Movistar Arena. And more dates will be announced “imminently,” the website said.

We reported over two weeks ago that a South American website, La Tercera, had reported the possibility of a Paul McCartney concert at the Movistar Arena. The arena has roughly 15,000 seats. Our reports had said McCartney woiuld perform two shows at Movistar, though only one was announced initially.

As we've also reported, other dates in Costa Rica, Montevideo, Uruguay on April 18, April 25 at National Stadium in Lima, Peru, and a show April 28 at a venue in Quito, Ecuador. are expected be announced soon.

There's been no word on where other shows this year might be, though rumors have him returning to Japan. A return to the U.S. also appears to be a possibility.

The 2013 edition of the Out There! tour began May 4 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil at Mineiräo Stadium, and featured over 30 shows in Brazil, the U.S., Poland, Austria, Italy, Canada and Japan.
