Pat Boone dreams of civilian uprising removing Obama then installing him as president

Entertainer Pat Boone in a WorldNetDaily column writes that he dreamed that an uprising removed all U.S. government leaders and when the dust settled he was president. In the column he begins with his dream new bulletin:

Wow, I had this crazy dream last night! Maybe it's something I ate, or more likely, all the insane stuff we've all been hearing constantly on the news. I say "insane" because the measures and pronouncements being made by our president and our Congress – without consulting at all with the folks who elected them! – are truly the stuff of nightmares. But it's all happening, in real time and right before our eyes.
 
In his dream he lays out a detailed agenda; replacing Treasury Secretary Geithner with Steve Forbes, forcing bailed out companies to file bankruptcy, extending temporary assistance to those losing jobs as a result and a zero-sum budget that he “…would defend with my life and honor.”
 
He dreams of a flat tax, a return to the gold standard and telling the judiciary "Hands off religion, as the First Amendment dictates. And you will no longer legislate from the bench. Keep your personal ideas to yourselves, and enforce the legislated will of the people."  He ends aid to countries that vote against U.S.  positions in the U.N. "If they're not for us, they're agin' us. They can go on without our aid." and would overturn the Obama provisions aiding to the people of Gaza and international family planning agencies.
 
He finally awakens “…tingling with excitement – only to find I'd been dreaming. But I can't get it out of my mind.”
 
Recently right wing Americans have organized to make Mr. Boone’s dream come true. From fomenting rebellion in the military, to seceding from the Union and surrounding domestic enemies, the call of Joe Hill “Don’t mourn, organize” is heeded, but with a sense of danger and hostility. It may be a dream to take up arms to overthrow the government, but it is unclear if the dreamers understand that what for them may be a thought experiment; for the next Timothy McVeigh may be marching orders.

    I'd say the marching orders are not coming from the right wing, they are coming from Mr. Obama himself. It's sort of like saying the White Russians caused the revolution when Vladimir Lenin was doing the revolutionizing. Or maybe Tianemen square was entirely the fault of the guy standing in front of the tank.

    And by the way, it isn't the rightwing who has sympathies for terrorists ranging from Stalin to Mao to Hamas, it is the leftwing. Hitler was a National Socialist who came to power on the back of a depression (sound familiar?). So perhaps the smugness can go away when you write articles about the right and look in the lefthand mirror.

    I saw nothing in Pat Boone's dream that I wouldn't agree with - other than perhaps him being President (but for all I know, he could make a fine one) and I'd put Ron Paul in as Treasury Secretary.

    Whatever the case, the actualization of Boone's dream would be FAR better than the nightmare we're currently in with the criminal U.S. Government.

    Mr.Boone thanks for saying all that but we all know that through history no one has gotten the presidency right, i did like Mr.Bill Clinton though.If you all want to make thing's right put him back into office.Mr.Obama did inherit this mess he didn't create it, did anyone really think he would just come into office and make it all just go away with a coke and a smile. There's work to done let him do it.the American economy was already on the way to crashing before Mr.Bush left office, war time and terrorist were already in full swing how do you just stop it, you can't just say stop and it does talk's are needed and whatever else to make head way. I think we American's have been caught up in a cycle of bull crap and ideology and lie's and deceit for so long we can't take it when, someone different from the norm come's along and want's to expose those who are corrupt and those who caused all this problem in the begin with.So if you want to oust Obama for trying to do his job then you need to reach back down to texas and bring out the real man who helped walk us into this problem and all who were with him,Pat Boone you were great as an entertainer but President material i don't think so. The blithe forebearance of those commenting here is pretty troubling, too. Right wing or left, you'd think upholding our Constitution would provide some kind of common ground for all Americans.     Wow Steve, you sound like the wife beater who claims "she made me do it by [fill in the blank]." There is nothing Obama is doing, nothing he ran on, that is un-American in any way. This is part of the problem with folks on the political right, they are SO convinced that their OPINIONS about American democracy are FACTS that they get all bent out of shape when anyone else's political opinions and theories gain traction. Guess what Steve? You guys LOST, BIG TIME. And elections have consequences. Why is it that y'all are only interested in defending American democracy when Republicans hold power? As soon as Democrats gain the presidency you whack jobs start talking revolution. You need to get out of your self-denial and recognize that what you think is patriotism is actually just an attempt to intimidate the country into continuing the failed policies of the past eight years. The American people overwhelmingly rejected that in November. Time for y'all to wake up and smell the coffee.

    And BTW, Jonah Goldberg's Fractured Fairy Tales version of "history" aside, the word Socialist in the Nazi's name had NOTHING to do with Socialism as an economic system. It had everything to do with PR because socialist ideas were somewhat popular in the early 1930's and the Nazi's were not above using false advertising. In actuality, the Nazi's were far right wing fascists who combined the power of the government with the power of the large industrial corporations, media, and religion - just like the modern Republicans. The key here is the level of authoritarianism - top down rule just like the Bush administration. Y'all just LOVE a "strong leader" who forces through his ideas - Bush II, Reagan, Gingrich, etc. And if these people were serving the interests of the great majority of the public that might be somewhat OK - even though most Americans I know, and most people in general I believe, chafe at the idea of ANYONE telling them what to do. And while the GOP talks a god game, they're really just about the government leaving the CORPORATIONS ALONE. They have no problem with the government interfering in our personal lives over personal morality issues like pot smoking.

    What I really love about the left is how well they have mastered the art of marginalizing anyone who disagrees with them as nut jobs. No actual analysis of issues required. Team Obama is ravaging our economic future and putting our children's' children into indentured servitude to a near-infinite debt, and we are the bad guys for suggesting that perhaps, just perhaps, his Marxian "solution" will skew us so far off our original constitutional course that a serious correction might be in order. But isn't an "uprising" unconstitutional, or at least extra-constitutional? Hardly. The organic document of our republic, the Declaration of Independence, which is the mission statement under which the Constitution operates as merely the means of legal implementation, specifically authorizes the people to set aside governments that have crossed that curious boundary that separates legitimate governments from illegitimate tyrannies. Would that the people of the Weimar Republic had shouldered that moral duty while there was still time. How much sorrow might we might avoid for our children and their children after them if only we had the courage to rise to our duty today. Yes, there will be unstable persons whose love of violence will attract them to any fight. Can we let that stop us from doing what is right, even though confrontation is distasteful to every civilized person? Was that the position of our founding fathers, to just let King George roll over them and destroy their heritage without a fight? Correct me if I am wrong, but this nation was born out of the struggle of ordinary people to escape the slavery of an unwarranted economic servitude imposed on them by insular, self-appointed elites. If there has ever been a moment in our history where we would be fully justified to pull the emergency brake provided for us in *our* Declaration of Independence, this may well be that moment.

    Mr. Obama's agenda is obviously socialistic or even Marxist; and if allowed to continue it will result in the total destruction of our personal freedoms and our free market system. His behavior is proving disasterous to our country. I, for the record, was NOT a great supporter of George W. Bush, or his father. However, Mr. Obama is, in my estimation, 100 times worse! The best hope we have of keeping our freedoms and our treasures is to elect a Republican Senate in 2010. Even if Mr. Obama is very unpopular in 2010, which WILL happen if the economy has not turned around, it will probably be difficult for the Republicans to regain majority status in the US House of Representitves; However, I believe the Senate is very possible! A US Senate comprised mostly of dedicated Conservative Republicans can hold the line against the fascist Obama and the fascist, yes fascist Democrats in the US House.I believe that this can save our country, but rebuilding our economy after the Obama debacle will take years, possibly decades to reverse. We will need to elect, in 2012 a dedicated Republican fiscal conservative, who will have to put restraints on government spending, and that includes Fannnie Mae, Freddie Mac, and all other lending institutions, whose Democrat members that blackmailed us into giving loans to millions of unqualified persons for home loans, which was the main cause for our financial disaster we face today. I believe Mitt Romney is the most likely candidate for this job, as he is an acknowledged financial expert and would know what to do to fix Obama's and the Democrat's mess! Yes the war in Iraq Blah, Blah, Blah...it is a valid debatable point, but at least it freed 25 million Iraqis and toppled a vicious dictator...sort of an Obama wantabe.

    When I read Mr Boone's dream on wnd, I felt it was from God..

    I think he would make a wonderful President.

    I remember him from my childhood..He was very famous and one of the most handsome men in the lime light in the day.

    While others would go Holly Wood and leave their wives for younger women and stop having morals when they became famous....Pat Boone never did...

    As I saw him from time to time at talk shows and the such....He always seemed to me to stay close to God.

    Maybe God is putting him position to be President..

    I have been thinking in the last few days that we need someone that has never been in politics to run...

    I can't explain why, but I have that knowing feeling.

    It is painfully obvious that the right-wingers in America simply do not cherish democracy, based on all the euphemisms being thrown around that really mean "armed insurrection" and "coup."

    On another note, every single social conservative I've ever known (I lived in Texas most of my life) was a racist, and I'd be willing to bet that this sudden outrage about "corrupt Washington politics" is really just a way to express their frustrations about "that uppity negro." I would note that I've known plenty of people who were fiscally conservative (socially moderate or liberal) that weren't racists.

    I just spent the last week locked inside working on my business taxes. A Flat Tax looks really nice right now. I will spend another 3 days trying to figure out where to put all these expences into turbo tax because there is no catagory for shipping or sales tax? Our government is out of control. They are like thieves with stolen credit card numbers running up the tab with China..using our credit. I agree with Boone, we need to flush the toilet on our current leaders. So if it happens to turn out that not every white, socially conservative Texan is also a racist, would that possibly be an unwarranted generalization on your part? If so, how may we distinguish your attitude from bigotry in general? Just curious. Also curious how you account for socially conservative black Texans.

    As for cherishing democracy, it is a government of law, not men, as the saying goes. No one gets a pass on violating its core principles. Not Bush. Not Obama. That's what makes us unique in the world. Our democracy can survive the dissolution of a particular government, as long as the founding principles are honored. Those principles are well enunciated in the Declaration and the Constitution, and reveal one of the strangest ideas in human political history, that a government should set itself up with an explicit provision for its own demise should it get out of hand. We who truly do cherish our shared freedoms must never lose sight of the fact that "we the people" are the *official* last line of defense when government goes bad, and it will go bad. Politics naturally attracts those who long for power. Our founders knew this and created a form of government designed to limit the success of the power-hungry in acquiring power and employing it as a tool of oppression. Bush did violate his constitutional prerogatives. He is gone, and the worst of his ideas will ultimately fail. That is as it should be. The same applies to Obama. The founders wanted the bad ideas of self-seeking leaders to fail, because the failure of what is bad allows what is good to succeed. It's called checks and balances, and us ordinary joe citizens are part of that equation, not only at the ballot box, but at the "tea parties" as well.

    Joe, I'd like to meet a socially conservative black Texan. I knew a fiscally conservative black Texan, and we got along great. I worked with another black guy, who was in his 20s, and he told me stories about how his parents were told that he would just "have to get used to being called ni*er." My father, being the good social conservative that he is, would admonish me about how "all Democrats are ni*er-lovers." And I heard FAR worse from other social conservatives, when they were behind closed doors in "good company." Because every single social conservative, EVERY SINGLE ONE (and I've known a lot) were ready to spew racial epithaths the moment the door was closed, I don't give them the benefit of the doubt. And, since you have such great reading comprehension, I stated that "every one I have met" not "every social conservative is a racist." Joe, you can act all lofty and righteous on these message boards, but you know exactly the closed-doors racist crap I'm talking about. I've asked a lot of people I know if they have ever met a social conservative who wasn't a racist, and so far, the answer is no. Are you going to seriously claim that racists don't make up a significant portion of those clamouring for a coup?

    And in general terms, yeah, a government that is illegitimately in charge, or violating constitutional rights should be resisted or overthrown. So where were you the last eight years? Can you make a list of laws broken or civil rights violated by the Obama administration? Disagreeing with policy (which the president is within his full legal right to administer) does not warrant an insurrection. In fact, I'd say you, Glen Beck, and every one else pushing for armed insurrection are dangerously closed to breaking the law (see Title 18, Part 1, Chapter 115.2383 of the U.S. constitution).

    How many of you who voted for him know anything about who he really is?
    Far too many people voted for him only because he is a black man.

    Howdy folks. Here is an aged malcontent about to speak. All you folks need to keep an eye pealed on what is happening with the US government. We are gradually being sucked into the European globalist one world government system that was prophecied centuries ago in the Bible, that it would happen. Can we do anything about it?? NO!!! Because this must happen to in order to usher in the Beast government that will prevail a short time before Jesus comes back. Good advice would be to read your Bible, attend a born again knowledgeable Bible group and pray to God in the highest. Jesus is coming back soon. Our top priority is to get right with God and stay right with God, and then to help other people with their temporal needs and educate them to Eternal truth so they can make a credible decision about what they want to do with their soon coming eternity. Do what you can to make wise decisions with what money you have, educate your children AWAY from the elitist liberal immoral crap the diploma mills are handing out, toward a working knowledge about Jesus. Children need to know the real truth about life too. Instead of arguing endlessly about politics, spend your time doing what really matters. Giving God the respect He is due and helping those in need. Take care of the lonely and infirm. Do something to really help someone in need and make your life way richer in the process. We won't get Obama out of office. The supreme court will protect him. There will be another election in 4 years. Time goes by quickly and Obama's track record in 4 years will win out whether he deserves another term. We will know soon enough if the American people are safe or not. There is a judicial process to use to remove people from office if needed. I can't believe that any intelligent person would take these comments supposedly made by Pat Boone seriously. The writing style of this article reads like that of a very young person writing stories for comic books. There are a lot of people writing things that find there way onto online websites that masquerade like they are serious news web sites. Anyone can buy space and create such things. Stories like this one supposedly credited to Pat Boone belong on the pages of the National Enquirer. If Pat Boone genuinely wants to be Prez, then he must go through the accepted channels and challenges that he would face as a qualified candidate. At his age, I seriously doubt he would want the job. He is not the kind of guy that wants to be a public face in that arena, or else he would already have been a public voice in politics long before this. Most anyone who has deep convictions about what is right and wrong can write serious worthwhile articles for any publisher and garner an audience. Pat has celeb and this has helped him get an ear. I still like his singing and wholesome brand of music. I think this story about Pat Boone is a fake. Don't you agree?? Thanks for staying with me.

    BigErn, I suggest you broaden your social network. It is rather easy to find socially conservative black communities in Texas if you are willing to actually look for them. I offer you the following point of reference to begin your search.

    I am serious in my suggestion. One of the biggest contributors to bigotry of all kinds is lack of personal contact. We all have that problem, because none of us can be in all places at all times, except of course God. You should actually contact these folks. Having a conversation with someone you didn't believe existed can be quite an experience.

    I further conclude that your inability to see conservatism as anything other than a disguise for racism represents a victory for the left in the propaganda war more than it represents reality. I have many conservative friends (obviously) and not one of them is inclined to secret racial epithets. I even went to law school with a young Texan who had not a prejudiced bone in his body, but was and is genuinely interested in the well-being of all people, regardless of the quantity of certain skin chemicals. He hopes to run for governor of Texas someday. I hope he succeeds. He's very bright and has a good heart. And his reading comprehension is superior to mine. :)

    BigErn, as to insurrection, the pivotal question is not disagreement on policy, nor even compliance with law. Reread the Declaration. What does it say?

    "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.

    "That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed.

    So I agree with you; quibbles over lesser policy issues do not rise to the threshold required for "retiring" a particular government. However, where there is a pattern of sufficient length and strength that demonstrates an objective of absolute despotism, that is the trigger that puts the correction logic in motion, lesser laws notwithstanding. Was an overly idealistic war fought with faulty intelligence data and an unconstitutional lack of a congressional war declaration an act of despotism? Arguably not. The objective was to set another nation free, not to exert tighter control over us. Was the unconstitutional imposition of restriction on political free speech by McCain-Feingold an act of despotism? Getting closer. Our freedom was in the crosshairs, not someone else's. Is the Marxian lust to put *our* means of production under near-absolute national control (via "loans" that amount to unconstitutional federal purchases) something that smells of tyranny? To me, and to many others, it absolutely does. Historically, nationalizing production on a scale this grand has routinely been a precursor to genuine tyranny, of the very kind in view when the founders threw off the oppression of a dictatorial England. Bad wars come and go, but economic slavery goes on and on and on. I don't want that for my children. I love them. I want them to have a free future. How can that be wrong?

    I'm a flaming liberal and I want an armed insurrection! I am so sick of our politicians stealing everything not nailed down, passing laws that are detrimental to the country, and not providing oversight for the businesses stealing everything not nailed down. Unfortunately, many right-wingers don't care about facts, or they would have been screaming when Bush's policies started us down this road.

    Thomas Brown and True North, the problem we are having here is competing propaganda machines. I was conservative before I ever heard of Rush or Beck or any of those guys. I also have a somewhat better than amateur grasp of history, having a father whose lifetime spanned the two world wars and who was involved in a personal way in the turbulent history of those times. Between that and my own education, both in history and in law, I believe I am being more than fair in finding a distinctly Marxist/totalitarian element in the current federal reaction to the present economic turmoil. Unfortunately, the modern political mind operates in featherweight sound-bites, not volumes of rigorous analysis. Therefore, it is unlikely anything I can write here can persuade you that you are wrong. But if you are interested in proving you yourself are not a mere troll, but a fellow human being willing to engage in honest dialogue with your fellow countryman, I invite you to consider the deeper analysis available here:

    BTW, I couldn't find the exact quote you gave anywhere. Could you enlighten us as to exactly where this comes from? Just curious. I don't really doubt it though. I did find other material of a similar nature that confirms his, shall we say, unique perspective. I remember being told some strange theories about an alleged racial curse when I was young, but I never could confirm them as true to the Biblical account. You must think of these offensive ideas as naval lint. Over time, they all gather up in one small place and are easily discarded thereafter. They have no serious impact on people who think. Let not your heart be troubled.
