The group, "Overpasses for Obama's Impeachment" announced today that they will be teaming up with the "Truckers To Shut Down America" group, the brainchild of a concerned American, and a woman well-acquainted with the trucking industry, Zeeda Andrews.
Both groups are nonpartisan, sharing a common disgust with the federal government's disregard of the United States Constitution.
"Overpasses" plans to be out in full force, calling the effort a "patriot wave" in order to support the truckers who will be making the trek across the nation to Washington, D.C. on the weekend of October 11-13, 2013.
The truckers are calling for a "General Strike" in order to protest "the corruption that is destroying America," according to their Facebook page, which surpassed the 80,000 "likes" mark today.
The "Overpasses" group announced today that on Friday, October 11, the group will "will support the truckers" by protesting on America's overpasses. The post reads in part,
"We need to be out there, cheering them on their way to DC!"
The Examiner spoke with Zeeda Andrews, who responded to the outreach of the Overpasses group with gratitude. She said that she is working on getting a banner that says, "Ride for the Constitution." When asked if everyone is invited to attend, she said,
"Hell yeah, this is about the restoration of our Constitution," she said. The group welcomes "all parties all races..."
Giving more insight to the purpose of her organization, Andrews said that truckers
"...can no longer remain silent to the UN-Constitutional regulations that are endangering the lives and livelihoods of many on the road...it is more that we can bear."
The "Overpasses" group's main Facebook page, at the time of this writing, has passed the 50,000 "likes" mark, but each state also has a Facebook page, listed here. The trucker group even inspired a Facebook page in Germany, illustrating that citizens around the world are frustrated with corruption in the government.
Zeeda Andrews was featured on the Pete Santilli Show yesterday, in an interview that can be heard here (around the 36:00 minute mark). Andrews goes into more detail about her group and explains how Americans can take part, even by doing nothing. She said, "We can do this."
