The warm weather teaser we saw the last few weeks has got me longing for a taste of summer. There’s nothing that tastes sweeter in summer than homemade ice cream. For a lighter take on your basic vanilla ice cream sundae, try starting out with this easy to make vanilla frozen yogurt.
Organic vanilla frozen yogurt
- 2 cups organic vanilla yogurt
- 1 cup 2% organic milk
- ¼ tsp. pure organic vanilla extract
- ¼ cup sugar
Combine all ingredients in a blender 1-2 minutes or until well blended. Pour mixture into an ice cream maker for 15 minutes then transfer to freezer safe dish and freeze at least two hours or until frozen and set. Top with your favorite toppings and enjoy a taste of summer! I like to use pantry staples like fruit, chopped almonds or dark chocolate.
