An orc on the set of Orcs! Orcs! Orcs!
Orcs! Orcs! Orcs! is the tongue-in-cheek working title of an ambitious indie film currently being shot in Salt Lake and Utah counties. The action-packed tale follows the adventures of two fabulously moustache’d Park Rangers who must defend their turf from invading orcs (yes… those fantastical beasties we all know and love from Lord of the Rings and World of Warcraft).
How and why the orcs are there seems to be a matter of some conjecture, but that they are on a murderous rampage was very evident from my visit to set. Ranger Cal, played by Adam Johnson, was extracting a severed foot from the sandtrap – the aftermath of an orc attack on some rather obnoxious golfers.
When questioned about the high concept premise, Executive Producer Ben Carson said: “Millions of people play the horde every day in WoW – they love their orcs, yet there are no films serving this market… until now.”
