“Want to join a beat-up old ex-Navy SEAL, ocean sailor and book writer on a real-world covert cyber operation?” Matthew Bracken asked readers of his website in a Feb. 23 communiqué. Starting today, the first novel in his “Enemies” trilogy, “Enemies Foreign and Domestic,” is available for free download via Kindle (it and its sequels, “Domestic Enemies: The Reconquista,” and “Foreign Enemies and Traitors,” were reviewed by this writer in separate GUNS Magazine columns, and a transcript of my radio review of his most recent effort, “Castigo Cay,” is posted here).
The books are all exciting and written by someone who obviously knows special ops, so the invitation to join this accomplished man (who’s not as beat up as he might have us believe) is one that instantly intrigues. So what gives?
I thought I’d let Matt tell us in his own words.
DC: First of all, tell us about “Enemies Foreign and Domestic.” I’ve reviewed it, but give someone just joining the conversation the CliffsNotes version of what it’s about.
MB: EFAD is about an out-of-control Gangster Government, unchecked by a complicit mainstream media, that stumbles its way into igniting Civil War Two, after a rogue ATF operation that results in a Stadium Massacre. The intended result is to discredit the Second Amendment, and lead to the banning of all semi-automatic rifles, in the MSM, so-called "Assault rifles." Rather like the real-world Operation Fast and Furious. The connection between the fiction and the reality just screams out to me. Especially the role of the complicit media.
DC: And now we can get it for free? How?
MB: EFAD will be put into the Amazon Kindle Free Library on March 1st, for at least two day up to a maximum of five days.
DC: “Free” doesn’t seem to be doing you much good in terms of compensating you for your life’s work. Why are you doing this?
MB: It's a standard promotional tool these days for all authors, but in this case, I'm using the free days to send a clear message to the mainstream media, that out here in Bitter Clinger Nation we are fully onto their complicity in Gangster Government, Inc.
DC: You’re using social media, particularly Twitter, with the—they call it a “hash tag”?--#EFAD. What’s up with that?
MB: I am using a nexus of Twitter, Facebook, Free Republic, and freedom-oriented websites and blogs to maximize the impact of D-Day for Operation EFAD. #hashtags are how groups are found on Twitter. The overall idea is to log-roll the search results, and direct as many patriotic Americans as possible to the Operation #EFAD portal, which is this page on my website. This will explain the book, and my intentions, very clearly. This page leads to my daily communiqués sent out concerning the op. Start at the bottom with Comm #1, which covers Gangster Government, Inc, in thumbnail. Other communiqués explain how to use Twitter as a tactical field radio net, and so on.
DC: What is it you hope to accomplish, and how are you tying this in with the Fast and Furious gunwalking travesty?
MB: My fictional stadium massacre is an early prediction of the type of murderous operations that have now been conducted by the BATFE and other federal agencies, springing from the Holder DOJ and the Obama Whitehouse. Fast and Furious is what Obama meant by promoting gun control "under the radar." The MSM is not only not reporting the story, they are part of GGI. Watch out for my following essay on GG to learn more about this connection. My goal is to shine the media's own spotlight back on them. GGASI should be out on "D-1," or Wednesday, February 29. [Note: See “Gangster Government” link below—DC]
DC: What is it you’re asking Gun Rights Examiner readers to do, and how can they do it with the most effect?
MB: Just go to the page linked above, read about Operation #EFAD, and consider if they would like to do something for the cause.
As a follow-up to my conversation with Bracken, his “Gangster Government and Sakharov’s Immunity” essay is posted here, and should be read and shared far and wide.
With this as background, what’s next? Some simple steps:
- First, you don’t need a Kindle device. An application that lets you read ebooks on a PC is available as a free download at Amazon. Likewise, they offer a free app for the Mac.
- Once you have the program installed, simply go to Amazon’s EFAD page and download your free book.
- Then do one other thing: Spread the word. To everyone. The purposes of Operation #EFAD are to educate as many of our fellow gun owners and countrymen as possible, and to put federal officials and the “mainstream media” on notice that their actions are noted and will be remembered (particularly the corruption of and complicity with Fast and Furious “gunwalking”), and that there stands a reserve of patriotic Americans committed to guarding against growing corruption and tyranny, and to spreading the truth.
So please share links far and wide, via emails, blogs, social media…Per Bracken’s D-Day Communiqué:
Just below is the raw URL link to the Amazon Kindle free download page for EFAD. Use this to cut and paste across the internet, on Facebook, Twitter, and any forums or blogs you frequent. Don't forget to put in an #EFAD hashtag, even off of Twitter, to make it all searchable.
Do it now.

Spead the word
Regular readers: If you agree that mainstream press coverage of the gun rights issue demands a counter-balance, please help me spread the word by sharing Gun Rights Examiner links with your friends via emails, and in online discussion boards, blogs, social media sites, etc. Then get more commentary at The War on Guns: Notes from the Resistance.
