One man was shot multiple times and killed while another was wounded late Sunday night at an apartment complex in northwest Atlanta.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office on Monday identified the deceased man as Mr. Rodney Walker, 21, of Atlanta.

Shortly after 11 p.m., officers responded to the Daron Village Apartments on Harwell Road after getting a report of a person shot, according to Atlanta police.

Witnesses told police there was an exchange of gunfire in the breezeway of one of the buildings, according to media reports.

When officers arrived, they found the wounded man, police spokesman Sgt. Greg Lyon said.

He told police he was robbed and shot outside of building B, Sgt. Lyon said. He was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital where he was listed in stable condition.

As investigators were clearing the call, they were told that another man was found lying unresponsive in the rear of building D, the sergeant said.

“The male was found to be deceased on the scene from several gunshot wounds,” Sgt. Lyon said.

Investigators said the two calls are related, but they declined to release any additional details.
