One Direction in Sweden: 'The X Factor' performance, meeting MinStoraDag kids

On November 2, 2012, One Direction was in one of the group's favorite cities in the world: Stockholm, where One Direction performed on "The X Factor" Sweden for the first time. Most guest artists on "The X Factor" only get to perform one song, but One Direction did two songs: "What Makes You Beautiful" and "Live While We're Young."

Stockholm and Sweden are special places for One Direction. Besides having many loyal fans there, One Direction has recorded several songs from their albums in Stockholm.

One Direction songwriter/producers Carl Falk and Rami Yacoub are Swedish. Falk, Yacoub and their American partner Savan Kotecha co-wrote One Direction's biggest hits: "What Makes You Beautiful," "One Thing" and "Live While We're Young."

While in Stockholm, One Direction met up with Falk and kids from the charity MinStoraDag, which grants wishes to children with life-threatening health problems. One Direction is involved in a similar charity in the U.K. called Rays of Sunshine.

One Direction has been in continental Europe this week to promote One Direction's second album, "Take Me Home," which will be out on November 9, November 12 or November 13, 2012, depending on the country.

In the second and third week in November, One Direction will be in North America to promote the album. In the U.S., One Direction's national TV appearances announced so far are on the syndicated "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" in Los Angeles on November 9, 2012, and NBC's "Today" in New York City on November 13 and November 14, 2012. One Direction is confirmed to perform on "The X Factor" U.S. in Los Angeles, but the date has not been announced yet.

One Direction will back in London for a performance on the BBC Children in Need Appeal Night telethon on November 17, 2012. Then on November 19, 2012, One Direction will perform for Queen Elizabeth II and her husband, Prince Philip (the Duke of Edinburgh), for the annual Royal Variety Performance, which ITV1 will televise in December 2012 on a date to be announced.
