The 33rd annual Oktoberfest was celebrated today in the Germantown community of Nashville. Venders, concessions, music, and the Germantown historic district attracted thousands of festival goers who enjoyed an unusually beautiful fall day.
A day of healthy walking was in order for those who attended Oktoberfest as the booths and entertainment covered about a mile of sidewalk area. Quite a few festival-goers wore green Bavarian hats, caps and sunscreen which offered good sun protection, but that wasn't the only homage to good health.
Skin care, health and beauty booths lined the streets dotted among booths with trinkets, art and food. Some of the booths with a skin care or health theme included: Alchemy of Sol with its soap, salts and sundries made with pure essential oils and natural colorings from herbs; African Shea Butter made from the African karite tree; Local Honey with its allergy and other health benefits and cool hive display; Sooner or Lather; body wraps and a couple of first-aid booths. See the slideshow for booth photos.
