They were eight of the most adorable black and white puppies, found in a closed crate and abandoned along the side of a road in Clinton, when a curious passerby stopped his car wondering what the contents of the wooden box would reveal reported wnow.worldnow.com.
According to Bella Foundation SPCA where the puppies were brought, board member Amanda Morstad stated:
"I guess the citizen saw the box on the side of the highway and probably thought they could use the storage crate to store things in and then they got a surprise when they opened it. There were puppies in it."
The puppies are now in foster care and doing well; it is expected the four-week-old little bundles of energy and love will be available for adoption in another month.
These little ones are extremely lucky to have been found. With the heat of the day, the sealed box, and no food and water, it is doubtful the puppies would have survived the day.
The organization states it is unlikely a criminal investigation will be pursued.
