Ohio man wanted for animal cruelty surrenders to authorities

The Fairfield County, Ohio, man who is wanted on 70 counts of animal cruelty, surrendered to the authorities on Wednesday.

According to Wednesday's publication of 10TV News, Cory W. Dewberry, who runs a dog training operation, turned himself in to the Fairfield County Municipal Court Wednesday morning.

A warrant for Dewberry's arrest was issued after investigating deputies discovered the presence of unsanitary kennels, neglected dogs and numerous licensing and permit offenses at the boarding/training facility.

Sheriff deputies were alerted to a problem by one of Dewberry's clients who claims that her dog was covered in lacerations and was severely underweight after spending time at the facility.

At the time that deputies visited the facility, several dogs were seized - many of whom appeared to be neglected, and possibly, abused.

According to Wednesday's publication of the Dispatch, Dewberry has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
