The Obama approval rating is nearly twice as high as that of the GOP. The same survey gave the republicans only a 22% positive approval rating and a 53% negative rating. That is the lowest ever recorded for the party. The recent government shutdown played a role for sure.
The Obama approval rating has been hurt doubly by both the shutdown and the Heathcare.gov website debacle. The Affordable Care Act rollout has been nothing short of a disaster for many who could benefit from it most.
The Obama administration has been subject to a number of bad news items this year. From Syria to NSA spying accusations and leaks it has been a very rough road. But, both the GOP and tea party have been the focus of blame for the government shutdown much more so than the Democrats.
