Clumsy is an appropriate term for the Obama administration as it dropped the ball on Obamacare, for instance. It is a team that seems to practice a lot but fails when the game counts. It is deadly serious when it comes to Russia and China, for instance.
The Ukraine has erupted in violent protests as the nation struggles to gain alignment. Many citizens would prefer to be aligned with the European Union and the West while as many prefer to align with Russia.
Where the bungle happened is when according to The Hill: “Assistant Secretary of State Victoria Nuland describing which opposition leaders the U.S. would like to see gain power. The tape was posted on You Tube with a title deriding the protesters as ‘puppets.’” See the posted reference below. The story says that Russia recorded and leaked the video.
“Obama is trying to negotiate a nuclear deal with Iran, a peace treaty between Israel and the Palestinians and a political settlement in Syria. He needs Russia's help on Iran and Syria, where he hopes the Kremlin will hold Bashar Assad's feet to the fire after Syria blew two deadlines to turn over its chemical weapons arsenal.
Obama’s comments so far have been less bellicose than some lawmakers, and he has been careful to avoid fueling suspicions of U.S. meddling on the Kremlin's doorstep.”
