A NYC blast happened Wednesday in a Harlem explosion that destroyed two buildings and has killed at least two people. 18 others have reportedly been injured, according to New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio.
Huffington Post reports March 12 that the structures collapsed in East Harlem on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. The explosion was located at 1644 and 1646 Park Avenue, between 116th and 117th streets.
De Blasio said in the press conference that the New York City Fire Department is now putting out a 5-alarm fire. The mayor said the NYC blast was due to a gas leak.
Transportation stations have been suspended from the Harlem explosion. Metro-North trains going to and from Grand Central Station. Debris and other remnants from the blast have blocked tracks.
The aftermath has left quite a mess following the large NYC blast in East Harlem. Broken glass and other dangerous debris has covered the streets and cars.
