Christmas is coming, which means you’re most likely spending the day with friends and family or stuck at work (or maybe both). If you want to get away, there are a multitude of opportunities and best of all, most of them are free.
For over 20 years, Joe Betz and San Francisco's House of Prime Rib restaurant have sponsored a holiday meal, the Prime Rib Luncheon on Christmas Eve. Donating 2,000 pounds of prime rib for Glide’s special Christmas Day luncheon, Mr. Betz' annual contribution is a highlight for the church. He shares his philosophy, “You have to be hungry once in your life to realize what hunger is.”

Free coffee at Peet's: Peet’s will be serving complimentary brewed coffee and tea all day as a way to thank their customers and encourage them to make charitable donations on Christmas Eve.
Participating Peet’s location will be accepting donations and will make up to $1,000 of customer contributions to a local non-profit organization.
