UPDATE 8/31/13: GREAT NEWS! Justice Rescue just reported that Katie has been found and is safe! Our thanks to Justice Rescue and everyone who shared for her.
On August 28, the Torres family of Vineland, NJ was left devastated by a home robbery. Not just because of the big-screen TV and laptop that were stolen, but because the thief also took their beloved dog, Katie. Also taken were her bed and dog bowls.
Vineland Police said there were no signs of forced entry. The Torres' admit they may have left a door unlocked.
The 5-year-old spayed bull terrier mix was adopted four years ago from the Cumberland County SPCA as a surprise from Mr. Torres to his wife just before their one-year wedding anniversary. Their 2-year-old son has become very attached to the dog and has realized she's missing.
Almost all belongings - no matter how personal - can be replaced, but not family members, like Katie.
"We really just want the dog back. We really don't care about anything else. Nothing else is important to us." ~Torres family
Police are currently investigating but anyone with information about this heartless crime, please call Vineland Police at (856) 691-4111, or the Torres family directly at (856) 905-7588. Whoever has Katie is encouraged to simply drop her off at the Cumberland County SPCA, no questions asked.
Justice Rescue is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to her safe return. Call them at (215) 942-6363, or email email@example.com.
Please share to help bring Katie safely home to her family who loves and misses her. Join her Facebook page, Bring Katie Home, to stay updated on the search.
