Nintendo comments on ‘Wii U’ long OS load times and system crashes

The “Wii U” was released today in North America. A few of the first adopters may be experiencing some issues for the next-generation system, including long OS load times and system crashes. Nintendo today commented on the two problems plaguing the launch of their system. Long OS load times:

We are aware that users are experiencing load times when they launch or switch between applications. We are exploring ways to enhance features for consumers’ overall experience.

System crashes:

Instances of system freezing are rare and unlikely to occur. If your system has frozen unexpectedly, do the following:

  • Reset your system by unplugging it from the wall for 10 seconds.
  • Ensure your system is kept current with available system updates (How to).

The “Wii U” is now available in North America. The console comes in a Basic and Deluxe Sets. The Basic one contains the white system with 8 GB internal storage, Wii U GamePad, Wii U GamePad Stylus, Sensor bar, Wii U console AC adapter, Wii U GamePad AC adapter and HDMI cable. The Deluxe Set comes with the black system with 32 GB internal storage, Wii U GamePad, Wii U GamePad Stylus, Sensor bar, Wii U console AC adapter, Wii U GamePad AC adapter, HDMI cable, Nintendo Land, Deluxe Digital Promotion, Wii U GamePad Stand, Wii U GamePad Cradle and Wii U Console Stand.
