- Pat Greenwood of WPMI-TV was on WAVH-FM's (106.5) local midday news and discussion program ("Midday Mobile") this past Thursday, July 3rd, to talk about his life and career in news and sports broadcasting, including his plan to leave his position of news presenter for WPMI-TV's local morning news program ("Local 15 Today") by the Thursday of July 31st in order to focus on his positions in the athletics department at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, and WPMI-TV's plan to have his colleague Darwin Singleton take his place on the news program by the Friday of August 1st.
- Two collections of audio recordings of some local radio programming from 1964 that was produced by the former local radio station WABB-AM were uploaded onto YouTube recently along with audio recordings of some jingles that were produced for WABB-AM during the same year (the recordings of the programming include announcers for WABB-AM, commercial advertisements, and the beginnings of songs being broadcast by WABB-AM).
(amendment note: the report about the audio recordings was amended after the author discovered more recordings of WABB-AM's programming from 1964 along with the jingles).
(correction note: the article titled "News from the Mobile TV Examiner for Thursday, July 3rd, 2014" was corrected with a link to a better version of an image for its report about new prices for customers of Comcast Cablevision of Mobile's cable TV system)
