New York Fashion Week 2013: Models eat backstage at the runway shows

Glamour broke the news on Feb. 12 that models do eat at New York Fashion Week. In fact, there is an abundance of food backstage at the runway shows. The myth that models diet or don't eat has been squashed this week.

Writer Amy Wicks checked out the happenings at Fashion Week. She even got a backstage pass of what goes on in between shows. There was a large table of food backstage at one of the shows.

Models get their choice of bagels, pasta and cheese. The models were even helping themselves to seconds and thirds of each one. The choices were quite shocking. People often joke that models rather snack on lettuce and celery sticks than gorge on fattening food.

Some of the biggest designers even offer food backstage at their shows. Since it was a cold and snowy week in New York City, Phillip Lim offered hot chocolate to the models. The mugs of coco were topped with tiny marshmallows.

Diane Von Furstenburg was also graceful at New York Fashion Week. She offered pasta salad and sandwiches to the models. Of course, there were healthier choices like Fiji water and juice cleanses.
