New year UFO sightings spread to Orlando

A resident of Orlando, Fla. experienced a UFO sighting Saturday night, continuing the recent surge in orb-like reports. The witness contacted 'Orlando Paranormal Examiner' Sunday and reported the event to the Mutual UFO Network.

The individual explained in the MUFON report that they observed a star-like object with an orange tint about 6:50 p.m. Saturday. They described the object as making surprising movements, adding that they have seen a lot of aircraft, none of which ever maneuvered or was as bright as what they saw. The UFO sighting lasted around 50 seconds or so, the report indicated.

The adult male witness, who wishes to remain publicly unnamed, contacted and explained Sunday to 'Orlando Paranormal Examiner', "I saw a light that was very bright move in a way aircraft can't. It flew left and right and would be stationary at times, then it descended at a steady speed and disappeared. The light on whatever it is I saw wasn't blinking and was very bright, almost star like. The craft kind of danced around the sky as if someone had a laser pointer."

The witness estimated the apparent flying object was at a distance of a mile or more. He experienced the UFO sighting from his home in Northeast Orlando and emphasized he has never seen anything move like the object, adding, "Then it descended straight down at a steady speed like it was attached to a pole. When I say straight down, I mean straight down."

The recent increase in such UFO sightings was anticipated by some who confidently suspect holiday celebrations and Chinese lanterns to be responsible. Others, such as Peter Davenport of the National UFO Reporting Center, suggest the popular lanterns do not account for all the reports.

Asked about such a possibility, the witness replied, "This was no lantern... The maneuvers were distinct and this object wasn’t floating with the wind."
