A new quarter-dollar honoring Mountain National Forest in New Hampshire was made available Monday, the United States Mint announced.
The coin features George Washington on one side with the word “liberty” and the phrase, “In God We Trust.”
The “flip” side features Mount Chocorua, which the U.S. Department of Agriculture described as “the easternmost peak of the Sandwich Range, framed by birch trees. The nearly 3,500-foot peak rising from the rugged landscape is surrounded by pristine lakes and thick forestland. A perennial favorite with hikers, Mount Chocorua’s summit provides outstanding views.”
Inscriptions on the reverse include the phrases "White Mountain, New Hampshire, 2013" and "E Pluribus Unum."
The coin is available to collectors in a variety of sets.
A two-roll set, with a total of 80 quarters, features coins with Denver and Philadelphia mint markings. The price is $32.95.
Available for $34.95 is a bag of 100 quarters with Philadelphia, San Francisco and Denver markings.
Available for $46.95 is a three-roll set (120 quarters) with Philadelphia, San Francisco and Denver markings.
Coins with San Francisco markings are for collectors, and there is no plan to place them in general circulation. A single roll of 40 quarters with San Francisco markings is available for $18.95.
