Early Tuesday morning, the Associated Press reported that a new Johnny Cash album will be released next spring; Johnny Cash recorded the album in the 1980s and it has never been heard before. Johnny Cash’s son, John Carter Cash said that his parents never threw anything out and this is one of the things they stashed away.
The album is called "Out Among the Stars," and it was recorded with Billy Sherrill. Columbia Records never released it and they stopped representing Cash in 1986, according to ABC News.
John Carter Cash said that they had so much stuff saved that it took years to go through all of it, and now they are working on numerous projects with what has been found. John Carter Cash said that several book and music deals are being made as a result.
Johnny Cash's “Out Among the Stars” will be released March 25, 2014.
Johnny Cash died 10 years ago; he was 71 years of age. “Out Among the Stars” was recorded when Johnny Cash was going through a very difficult time in his life. It was recorded between 1981 and 1984.
Many people assume that the popularity of this album will be much greater now than it would have been in the 1980s.
