Fans have wanted a Nick and Jess relationship since season one, and now things are headed in that direction. Jake Johnson said the following about the pair:
"There’s going to be a major development. There writing a lot more for us together for the Nick-Jess story to progress, and it’s been really fun to do."
As for Schmidt, he is desperately trying to win CeCe back, but she has an arranged marriage, which could be the marriage teased in these new photos. Spoilers Guide shared the following comments from Max Greenfield about the pair:
"He’s making a full push for Cece. Every time he gets close, a disaster happens, and then he gets back in the friend zone, and then he pushes again and then a disaster happens."
