Although officially considered a "spin-off," Dead Island: Riptide is a sequel in pretty much every right. The game picks up where the story of the first game left off and includes lots of new gameplay additions with new weapons (such as several kinds of different land mines), new types of enemies, and even a new playable character - a former U.S. Navy serviceman named John Morgan.

Dead Island: Riptide is scheduled for a North American release on April 23, 2013 and will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. It'll be released in Europe a few days later on April 26th.
