Luk Fu just had its official grand opening in Maryland Live Casino this week. The open spaced restaurant a step up from the casino floor with an open kitchen format offers up authentic flavors from South East Asia ranging in Dim Sum, Congee, Pho to wok fried and steamed noodles. The 80 seat restaurant including the kitchen bar shines brightly with the colors for luck, joy and prosperity of red and gold. The Chef de Cuisine Joseph Ku brings 30 years of culinary experience from 4 star hotels, restaurants and casino from his native Hong Kong and throughout the United States.
A large contingency of the Asian community were at Luk Fu at Maryland Live Casino to support and enjoy everything from the Char Sui Bao, Shiu Mai, Pad Thai, Chow Ho Fun as well as the ceremonial roasted pig.
Horseshoe Casino Baltimore today announced that Ruby 8 Noodle and Sushi Bar will join the casino’s extensive lineup of restaurant concepts that will debut when the casino opens in August. Featuring authentic Asian dishes in a contemporary environment just steps from the gaming floor, Ruby 8 will offer gourmet quality cuisine, made-to-order and served quickly.
Ruby 8 will offer dishes straight from China, Vietnam and Korea including beef chow fun, roasted duck, lobster with scallions and spicy pork, as well as an array of fresh sushi prepared with Maryland seafood. The noodle bar will serve a variety of soups made fresh daily featuring homemade broth and fresh grilled meats.
Horseshoe Baltimore Senior Vice President and General Manager Chad Barnhill. “By teaming with local restaurateurs Chil and Joyce Chong, we will offer our guests a unique dining experience that combines local character with international flavor.” The Chongs have called Baltimore home for more than 30 years and have owned and operated restaurants in the area for more than two decades. Kai Lam, a noted master chef from Hong Kong, will serve as Master Executive Chef of Ruby 8.
Ruby 8 will join several other restaurant concepts being introduced at Horseshoe Baltimore when it opens in August, including:
· Johnny Sánchez, a spirited taqueria that will be the first collaboration between renowned culinary masters John Besh and Aarón Sánchez.
· Guy Fieri’s Baltimore Kitchen & Bar, which will bring the signature style of the chef, restaurateur, Emmy Award winning host and New York Times bestselling author to Charm City.
· Jack Binion’s Steakhouse – named for the man who made the Horseshoe a nationally recognized name and brought unsurpassed dining to his casinos.
· The Baltimore Marketplace, a collection of several popular restaurant concepts operated by celebrated local restaurateurs that together will comprise the casino’s casual dining experience.
