As the NCAA Division III Championship gets closer it's time to focus on the last match of the tournament and Williams who fought their way through the tournament after gaining an at large berth.
Despite needing an At Large bid to make the tournament Williams still hosted the opening rounds and made very light work of Elms in the first round match with a simple 4-0 win.
The Ephs repeated the impressive goal scoring in their second match as they were then able to score four again in a 4-1 thumping of WNEC sending them through to the sectionals.
The sectional set up some tantalizing match ups beginning with the small matter of having to get past Brandies who challenged the Ephs all the way but Williams always seemed to have some measure of control through the match as they managed a 2-0 win over Brandies.
That set up a thrilling rematch of the New England Small College Athletic Conference final against Amherst on Amherst's home turf.
In the conference final Amherst were able to get past Williams in a thrilling match 1-0 to book their place in the tournament forcing the Ephs to rely on an at large berth.
With Amherst looking to show that they deserved their conference title while Williams were looking to get some revenge for that final.
In the end Williams got a reverse on the result as they defeated Amherst 1-0 keeping the tension on that rivalry burning for another season.
The Final Four will be a massive step up for Williams this year, it hasn't been their best season but they've got the job done when it mattered most.
That is something they will have to do again as they take on the perennial favorite Messiah College in the semi-final facing huge odds.
