Ke$ha's music producer Dr. Luke: My fat-shaming did not drive Kesha to bulimia

Ke$ha's music producer, Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald, denied that his chronic fat-shaming drove the singer to bulimia.

"These statements and allegations concerning Dr. Luke are completely false," his rep told People.

"It is unfortunate that at a time Ke$ha is suffering immensely and trying to heal at a treatment center, her mother is taking this approach with the media. I give Ke$ha my utmost support and well wishes for a quick return to health."

Kesha's mother, singer/songwriter Pebe Sebert, told "People" that Dr. Luke's constant weight-bullying caused Kesha to crash-diet, lose a dramatic amount of weight, and eventually led her to bulimia. Dr. Luke reportedly called Ke$ha a fat "f**ken refrigerator."

"Dr. Luke had been telling Kesha how she had to get in shape and lose weight," said Sebert. "She was exercising and dieting and ultimately doing everything she could, but was not getting thin fast enough. And that's when she first became bulimic.

"Dr. Luke told a friend of ours he thought she looked like a refrigerator on her latest video, and could she please try to control her weight. After she went on a 14-day juice cleanse, he said, 'Thank God you finally got rid of the weight!'"

Sebert said her daughter finally confessed that she has been suffering from bulimia for a couple of years. "Right before Christmas she had a breakdown, and called me from the gas station after she'd thrown up everything, and admitted how much she'd been doing it," Sebert recalled.

Meanwhile, Sebert slammed rumors that Kesha is suffering from drug and alcohol addiction, insisting the singer is being treated for bulimia. Ke$ha entered a 30-day rehab facility on Jan. 3, but Sebert said she'll likely stay in treatment longer.

Sebert added that Ke$ha eventually wants to use her bulimia as a platform to educate her fans about the dangers of eating disorders. “She wants to be a voice for this," said Sebert.

Update: On Jan. 11, Sebert announced that she has checked into rehab for post-traumatic stress. She will stay at the same facility with her daughter.
