Jamie Pasieka, 29, was charged Saturday with two counts of first-degree murder, attempted murder [x1], and possession of an offensive weapon [x2], the statement said. Additional charges are pending.
“It is a devastating situation for everyone, including the families,” said Staff Sgt. Bill Clark of the homicide section.
Police identified the two victims as 50-year-old Fitzroy Harris and 41-year-old Thierno Bah. Four other male co-workers aged 21, 29, 34 and 44 were hospitalized. The 34-year-old male remains in hospital.
Police later arrested Pasieka near 39 Street and 74 Avenue after they received a tip hours after launching a massive manhunt and releasing his pictures to the media.
Autopsies for both victims were scheduled for Monday.
